T he Olympics is it worth coming out with no medal ?
F or the many people who do not do well in the Olympics was it worth the years of training ? We know all of the people who do well In the Olympics but what about the people who come out with nothing ? Do you ever think about them ?
Chris Hoy is an amazing cyclist winning total of 6 gold medals in the Olympics this year alone . For him all the years of training have definitely paid off , and he is arguably the best cyclists in the world right now .
Sadly it is not the same successes story for everyone who enters the Olympics , and sometimes some of the athletes push themselves a little too far . This was demonstrated in 2008 when Derek Redmond had an injury in the 400 Meters and fell to the ground in pain but he was not going to quit , he pushed himself to the limit and got up and kept on running , or should I say limping to the end of the finish line . For him after all the years of training he was not going to quit that easily . He may have come last but he finished the race and got a standing ovation !
