T he Olympics is it worth coming out with no medal?

F or the many people who do not do well in the Olympics was it worth the years of training? We know all of the people who do well In the Olympics but what about the people who come out with nothing? Do you ever think about them?

Chris Hoy is an amazing cyclist winning total of 6 gold medals in the Olympics this year alone. For him all the years of training have definitely paid off, and he is arguably the best cyclists in the world right now.
Sadly it is not the same successes story for everyone who enters the Olympics, and sometimes some of the athletes push themselves a little too far. This was demonstrated in 2008 when Derek Redmond had an injury in the 400 Meters and fell to the ground in pain but he was not going to quit, he pushed himself to the limit and got up and kept on running, or should I say limping to the end of the finish line. For him after all the years of training he was not going to quit that easily. He may have come last but he finished the race and got a standing ovation!
