Jamie Briggs

Hello reader!

My name is Jamie and I’m one of the editors here at Digital Cities magazine team. I would like to thank you personally for buying a copy of this magazine. This magazine has been created by me and three of my colleagues, and we all hope you have an enjoyable read.

I am from Scotland and have lived on a small farm outside a small town in the south west of the country, coming from an area like that to the capital city of Scotland was a big change in my life, and one that I’m grateful I made. It was a big step but worth the risk. I came to the capital to study Interactive Media Design at Edinburgh Napier University, a course that will hopefully take me far in life. Coming to the city from a small town was certainly interesting and it has given me a lot of new and exciting experiences which have helped me mature and settle down into my new lifestyle, coming to Edinburgh I immediately found myself to feel comfortable and at home; I met some fantastic people who I hope to be friends with for the rest of my life.

Knowledge

Being part of this group and creating this magazine has been a very enjoyable experience and one I would look forward to doing again, it involved decision making and good teamwork to decide on different things which in the end, has produced the magazine you are reading at the moment. The articles I wrote were the “Escape from the City within the City”, “Edinburgh’s Architecture: Old and New” and “Edinburgh’s music scene”. All based on my own knowledge and experiences I thoroughly enjoyed writing these articles and I hope that they will offer people an insight into what to expect when they come to Edinburgh.
