All of us face many what-ifs on a daily basis — and at Deeley Insurance Group , we think this is a good thing . Asking what-if also helps us to decide what risks threaten our safety and security . But taking calculated risk can inspire growth beyond what we ever imagined .
That ’ s the path I chose 20 years ago when I started my career with an opportunity to take over the family insurance business . Back then , it was a different agency in different times . The move was in a different direction than the path I was on , so I asked myself , “ What if we did insurance differently ?” I was a philosophy major and about to pursue the next level of academics — I was going to be a teacher . When I went into business , my instructors didn ’ t get it . But my vision was to grow and develop people in a place it was least expected — in the insurance business . I asked , “ What if we didn ’ t always say winning is what matters , but instead said doing the right thing for our people and clients is winning . And if that was at the core of what we did , would success come ?”
I took another risk in 2015 when a chance introduction to Cindy Hall , Deeley ’ s Executive Vice President , brought a fresh perspective and talent into our agency . After 20-plus years in the food services industry , Cindy took a risk by entering the insurance industry . “ I left a space where I was the expert , the person people went to when they needed help ,” she explains , “ and quickly had to be comfortable in a new world . It was humbling and exciting .”
As a team , we believe in doing good things in our communities , for our clients and employees . The rest always falls into place .
