7, 8 and 9
The votes have been counted for the election in District 7. Dr. Judith Plante, a family physician from
Pembroke, is returning for a second term and Dr. Sarah Reid, a pediatric emergency physician from
Ottawa, will be a new face around the Council table.
Dr. John Rapin, Dr. Michael Franklyn and Dr. Andrew Turner had earlier been acclaimed in their districts.
Congratulations to all of the elected Council members and thank you to all the candidates who ran in the
2018 district election.

Dr. Rapin will begin his second term of Council. He has
been in medical practice in Ontario since 1969 and has
practised as an emergency department physician in
Kingston for more than 40 years. Dr. Rapin is past presi-
dent of the Ontario Medical Association and has been
active in the Canadian Medical Association. Dr. Rapin will
continue to serve on the Discipline Committee, among
other duties.
Pembroke
Returning to Council for a second term, Dr. Plante has
recently retired from clinical practice after 30 years.
Her broad background includes patient care, outpatient
clinics, obstetrics, and ER as well as a career in teaching
and seven years as Chief of Family Practice at Pembroke
Regional Hospital. Over the past three years, Dr. Plante
has served on the College’s Inquiries, Complaints and
Reports Committee and the Registration Committee. She
also sat on a working group reviewing the CPSO’s Medical
Records policy.
