FOR YOUR INFORMATION
Getting an eHealth Ontario ONE ID
College simplifies the process for physicians
Providing patient care is becoming increasingly dependent on access to electronic
health records (EHRs) as fellow health-care providers continue to adopt electronic
health information practices, including accessing patient health information via
provincial health records.
eHealth Ontario’s ONE® ID is a single login and password that provides secure access to a variety of
electronic health services and will allow you to sign up for other digital health services that together
form your patients’ EHR. ONE® ID is a crucial step in helping doctors have access to the patient
information they need. The available EHRs are expanding and depending on where you practise,
ONE® ID can provide you with access to various clinical viewers including cSWO Regional Clinical
Viewer, Clinical ConnectTM and Immunization Connect Ontario for Health-Care Providers (ICON HCP)
and other digital patient health information.
The College has collaborated with eHealth Ontario to simplify the process for getting a ONE® ID
Account by eliminating the need to provide identity documents. You can simply login to the Member
Portal with your CPSO number and password, and click on the “Get Your eHealth ONE ID” button. You
will then be redirected to the One ID registration form on eHealth Ontario’s website and the College
will automatically send eHealth Ontario certain authenticating information about you, such as your
full name, CPSO number, gender, birth date and registration class.
eHealth Ontario is permitted to use this information about you for the following purposes:
o t o enable you to register for ONE ID, ONE Mail and other services made available by eHealth
Ontario (including checking if you are already registered);
o t o manage your accounts for ONE ID , ONE Mail and other eHealth Ontario services, and
update information relating to these; and
o for authentication of CPSO members using ONE ID credentials and ONE Mail accounts.
If you haven’t done so already, we want to encourage you to get connected to ONE ID. Being
connected to the eHealth system is becoming more critical to providing good patient care.
