Spotlight on Our Clinical Site:
Cape Canaveral Hospital
Cape Canaveral Hospital is one of our long-term hospitals, and they are very
supportive when it comes to helping EFSC students learn from the very best
sonographers in the county!
Each student is able to observe and even scan patients once a week for eight
hours during the first semester. Junior Kalie and I are both stationed at Cape
Canaveral Hospital for Spring Term 2020.
Marissa, Candice, Tiffany and Fallon are four of the six sonographers who
work at Cape Canaveral full-time. We are so thankful that they take time
out of their busy day to teach us and answer our questions. So far, we have
been able to see breast biopsies and thyroid, breast, fetal, pelvic, abdominal
and lower venous scans. Being at a hospital lets us observe a wide variety of
scans from both in-patients and out-patients. It has been great to see how
sonographers work in a team to get the job done.
