Letter From The Editor
Semester two began and we entered our clinical sites for the very first time . Taking the techniques learned in our skills lab into our clinical sites is an exhilarating experience . Interning is an exciting opportunity to hone our new set of skills , while demonstrating what it is like to work in the field of sonography . Most of us were jittery and nervous , while some of us could not wait to get started . We observed many cases , some traumatic , some intriguing , some complex and even the ordinary .
Students had the opportunity to observe the role of a sonographer and assist in procedures such as biopsies , paracentesis , autopsy and outpatient surgeries . As we observed the fascinating pathological side of sonography , we also noted the implementation of quality patient care practices . Many of us witnessed those caregiving sonographers taking the time to ensure patient comfort with warm blankets and providing adequate safety instructions .
Sonographers influence and transform many lives . As we continue through our coursework , may we always keep this in mind .
