Tenerife saved its best
until last as the curtain
came down on the 2015
International Golf
Travel Market (IGTM),
the world’s premier
event for the golf
tourism industry, in
glittering fashion at Siam Park. Europe’s most spectacular
water theme park provided a fitting venue for the event’s
gala dinner and awards ceremony, bringing to a close the
most successful week in the island’s blossoming golf
history. After being given a tour of the amazing
185,000m2 park in Costa Adeje and enjoying a drinks
reception, the 1,000-plus guests were then treated to a
gala dinner on the beach by Siam Park’s wave pool, and
brought the event to a climax with a spectacular fireworks
display before to celebrate a successful four days.

2-5), Spain’s La
Manga Club has
appointed Luke
Murphy as the
flagship resort’s
new director of
sales, UK & Ireland. Murphy will return to his
London roots for the world’s pre-eminent travel
show having joined the new-look La Manga Club
management team from the neighbouring Mar
Menor Golf Resort, and having previously been
director of sales for the La Torre
InterContinental Hotel. Murphy is relishing the
challenge and said: ”This is a fantastic move for
me, not only personally but professionally. ”To
be part of the new team incorporated at La
Manga Club, a name that highly-regarded in golf
and leisure resorts in Europe, is a great honour,
and together we look forward to driving its
position to number one in Europe once more.”
