“I am consciously trading-off comfort for learning.”
So, what has the for-profit world taught me so far that is worth the discomfort? !
I would summarize it in 3 points:!
1. Results matter, and boy, there are more tangible
way to measure them than we ever believed!
If you can’t measure it, it does not exist. And once you measure it, it’s a trigger
for decisions, right here, right now, not in next semester’s board meeting. !
In many not for profits organizations proliferate “valid” reasons to accept results
as intangible concepts, or to accept those results as something that will

You know when you see someone and think, "wow, they're in their own world."
Well that world is la la land. !
With all respect, although systems’ thinking is more common in the social and
political jargon, it’s corporations that have mastered it the most without big
bragging about it. For profit world forced me to see multiple variables at a time
and understanding that there is no other option that considering all of them, at
once.!
3. You learn to manage diversity, but the real one!
Purpose and alignment with the cause is the top criteria when you hire for notfor-profits, and this ensures that a big level of homogeneity among your people. !
This is
