Flora Gibbs – Sky Sports Racing
I am so excited to be accepted onto the 2022 Development Programme . From a young age , horses have been at the epicentre of my life and I have always wanted to pursue a career where I can combine my love for them with my work . Despite not coming from a racing background , my passion for this particular industry was kickstarted from my early years , admittedly skipping school to watch Channel 4 Racing , riding out for renowned trainers and also competing in point-to-point races . I am looking forward to this opportunity to gain further insight into all aspects of the industry and the chance to learn specialist racing knowledge which will undoubtedly aid in shaping my career development within the sport .
Daniel Kent – Star Sports
I ’ m a 22 year old horse racing enthusiast who lives in Brighton . I spent a proportion of 2020 at The National Stud working as a stud hand on the Entry To Employment course and I worked closely with foals , mares , yearlings and stallions . I then went on to work as a social media executive for Coral , specifically on their horse racing team .
I decided to apply for this course as it was an extremely exciting opportunity in which my passion for horse racing could shine through . I am looking forward to learning many different aspects of the industry , especially diving into more of the social media side in which I believe I could have a huge impact .
My ambitions for the future are more to improve the social media appearance of the industry to attract more young people into the game , as well as having a focus on the responsible gambling side .
