If you’re looking for an unusual gift you won’t
be able to find anywhere else, a popular place
to stop while spending time Up North is Pine
Cone Antiques in Crosby. They specialize in
antique furniture, American pottery, antique
lamps and electronic signs reminiscent of the
1950s and 1960s.
“We are somewhat of an unusual antique
store in that we carry real authentic high end
antiques. We are not a gift shop or collector’s
shop per say. We deal in some original artwork
as well. Some of it is contemporary. Some of it
is antiques,” says shop owner Bob Novak, who
is also the Mayor of Crosby.
Novak says the shop’s hottest sellers are
antique lamps and lighting fixtures. They sell a
lot of Up North style contemporary lamps that
may have a deer, bear, or some kind of metal
object on it. “You know, things that are perfect
for the cabin,” he says.
Pine Cone Antiques carries a lot of Native
American gifts as well, including arrowheads,
bow and arrow sets and beaded items. “We
