hina – Mission Hills Haikou
C
(Lava Fields)
Opening in 2010, The Lava Fields Course at Mission Hills Haikou is
part of the enormous and extraordinary Mission Hills complex in
China which spans 22 golf courses across two locations, making
it the largest golf facility in the world. Located on the tropical
tourism island of Hainan, Mission Hills Haikou is home to 10 of
those courses, all public, including the award-winning Lava Fields
Course. Wonderfully walkable with unique trails that weave in
and out of the lava surrounds, the par-72 Brian Curley layout is a
great departure from the standard designs seen in Asia today.
A paradise for golfers and non-golfers alike, the 22-square-
kilometer luxury Haikou resort also offers nine more
championship courses, 168 volcanic mineral springs (making it
the world's largest mineral springs resort), five-star hotels by
Ritz Carlton, Renaissance and Hard Rock, Mission Hills movie
town, China's first Wet'n'Wild water park, China's first PGA of
America golf academy, 240,000 square meters of shopping and
entertainment at Mission Hills Centreville, a 20-pitch soccer
training base, Asia's largest indoor basketball school and world-
first visitor attractions by FC Barcelona and NBA.
