Q : How did you decide on a destination wedding versus a local wedding ? K & R : We love the ocean , so it had always been a dream of ours to get married in a beautiful destination with the ocean as our backdrop . Plus , we ' ve had friends and family over the years who have had destination weddings , and we loved the idea of celebrating our wedding for an extended period of time , not just one day !
Q : Did you enlist the help of a travel advisor ? K & R : Yes , we knew we needed someone who could recommend a destination and resort that had the amenities we were looking for . Also having a travel advisor who could handle all the details for our guests traveling from all over was great , so we could concentrate on the wedding planning .
Q : What destinations and resorts did you consider ? K & R : We knew we wanted an oceanfront , allinclusive resort and a beautiful beach . Our travel advisor recommended Riviera Maya , Mexico ; Montego Bay , Jamaica ; and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic . We also needed a familyfriendly resort , as we had a teenager attending , but wanted to have amenities for our adult guests as well as an upscale feel .
