ceiling and proximity to the existing door which leads into the utility area. With tight tolerances and minimal margin for error, the cabinetry required exact precision to the millimetre to align with the existing elements of the home.
A statement feature which naturally draws the eye up is the glass and oak shelving unit above the kitchen island, designed to house the homeowners’ glassware collection. Weighing over 100kg, Kitchens by Holloways ensured the ceiling was sufficiently strengthened during the early stages of installation to be able to support the shelf. The team also added a bespoke glass sliding door mechanism to allow for smoother access for the client.
Features of the original kitchen, the windows provide different architectural elements to the new kitchen design. The small, glass enclosed space now houses the sink area offering views of the garden, while the slim windows on either side of the hob allow plenty of natural light for cooking and food preparation.
