AR Architecture presents its award-winning refurbishment of a terraced house in North-West London .
The 3-bedroom split-level property – originally built as part of Camden Council ’ s Chalcoat Estate – was fully refurbished and extended to meet the needs of a professional couple and their three children . The client asked for a minimalist contemporary design with strong emphasis on natural materials .
The new Dining room in lieu of a dump North-facing patio was designed as a garden pavilion rather than an indoor space : its retractable windows can be fully open , and the North-West corner of its sedum roof bends up to let in the evening sun .
