Building our family home was definitely a challenge . We faced many of the issues that you might expect , from budget concerns to delivery issues and scheduling conflicts . But in the end , the team of experts we worked with ensured the process went as smoothly as possible and the final product was an amazing home for our family and an experience that has brought us all closer together as well .
Finally , the primary bedroom finishes the main floor . We wanted to create the feeling of a boutique hotel suite in this space and we started with a feature wall painted in Jungle Camouflage by Behr ® Canada to draw the eye as you enter the room . The primary ensuite was designed for a spa-like zen feel featuring a beautiful Solace 30 " vanity by Native Trail and Roibel ' s Riu widespread bathroom faucet with c-spout . The Toto Washlet ® G450 Integrated Smart Toilet was an exciting feature in this space , offering an auto open / close lid ( marriage saver !), a heated seat with temperature control and a built-in air purifying system ! For the MAAX walk-in shower , we chose a Vela Sliding Shower Door and MAAX Utile surround with a white subway tile look for a timeless finish . To complete the shower , we installed a Riobel rain shower and hand wand for a relaxing spa like look .
To ensure plenty of space for fun and activities as the girls grow , the home was designed with a large loft area that makes a perfect family room ! This is a flexible space where we can hang out as a family or where the girls can gather with their friends while mom and dad hide out downstairs ! The room is long and narrow , so we used Midnight Blue from Behr ® Canada to create a focal wall , drawing in the space and making it feel less like a hallway . We then furnished the room to create a variety of zones , including a small library nook in the dormer , an area for toys , a set of chairs to sit for a quiet chat and a large sofa for gathering together for game nights !
