CROWNS AND VENEERS
Dental veneers are most often used in dentistry to provide a cosmetic white coating to the patient’s teeth in
order to disguise discoloured or misshapen teeth and restore or improve the overall look of their smile. The
technique used requires that a thin piece of porcelain is applied to the surface of the tooth which matches the
desired colour and tone that the patient desires. This is a very effective way of covering up intrinsically
stained teeth that cannot be treated any other way. It is typically cheaper than crowns and less intrusive.
However for long term comfort and durability crowns are a better option for those with discoloured but
otherwise healthy teeth.
