Demented Critical Question Demented | Page 7

Typically, all drama movies, lots of reaction shots are used, hence why they include lots of close up shots, and long shots to show emotions and the tension of the scene. Lots of the scenes are built through flash backs and slow motions which is why editing styles such as “cross cutting’’ or “fast paced editing” is used.

In Romance films, to soft editing is used as there is nothing too major to emphasise. A lot of mid-shots are used to keep it neutral and it shows the characters body language towards each other.

Similarly, in my demented, Yusra farooq claims that she herself used these editing and shots. She used ''fast paced editing'' and ''cross cutting'' in all her flash back scenes and used ''soft editing in her romantic scenes just like every other drama romance movie.

She also used alot of ''mid shots'' for example when Jade is laughing at jake, ''point of view shots'' when Jakes hands are fisted , ''over the shoulder shots' ' of when Jake and Jade are sitting together on the swing and ''full body shots'' of Jade, to show the characters and portray their distress, body language and emotions.
