very emotional thing to make someone’ s dream of a unique home a reality by combining natural woods in a whole lot of different ways.
Frau Füreder, you previously undertook a project for Frauscher Boats, what was that? I did a painting for the new Frauscher boat‘ Demon’ depicting a kind of figurehead to act as the boat’ s guardian angel. A‘ Madonna’ holding the Frauscher boat in her hands. And she kept her promise. Despite the boat hitting a really bad storm on its passage from the south of France to Mallorca, the crew all reached the Island safely.
Herr Füreder, your projects are all commercially successful, yet one senses that you are pretty uncompromising in their implementation. How big is your team today to allow you time for a private life alongside your music, art and interior design? It’ s true, over the past ten years the artist Parov Stelar has grown into a company with a team of more than 25 people. But separating our professional and private lives doesn’ t work for us …. as when I have time off my favourite thing to do is to make music or get involved with art in all its diversity.
The beauty of this is that it is just the same for the rest of the family. Naturally our son takes up a lot of our attention …. but he experiences everything with us. That brings us really close together, it is a wonderful feeling.
Frau Füreder, are you planning to expand the StelarBloom collection in the foreseeable future? Most definitely. There are already a number of new designs in the pipeline and a standard lamp will be the next thing to come onto the market. The StelarBloom line will continue to expand and grow. Fortunately we have had really excellent feedback on the illuminated table and side tables, and people are very excited about our new designs.
Herr Punzenberger, the Voltaire collection’ s selling points include sustainable processing of the wood and the premium quality of the workmanship. What do you watch out for during the manufacturing process? It is very important to us to give the wood the time it needs to develop its exceptional qualities. This means that we dry the wood very slowly in the air for up to two years before working it. We don’ t use any pigments, stains or other harmful substances to colour our woods. We use the ingredients in the wood itself to create our colours. With the help of pressure and warmth, the sugar in the wood caramelises, which gives it wonderful earthy, cocoa and caramel tones. It is just the same as when you caramelise sugar in a pan at home- it turns brown. Exactly the same happens to wood. The process is completely natural, gentle and permanent. With our floors, furniture, walls, staircases and ceilings we have direct contact with the wood. We don’ t use any varnishes as they tend to create a barrier and suffocate the wood. We only use diamond oil which hardens in the pores and protects the wood from within instead of suffocating it. There is so much more I could tell you. The environment and its raw materials are very

important to us. This is why we treat it with the greatest respect and work sustainably.
Herr Füreder, have you got any new projects lined up you can tell us about? I am always working … and when Parov Stelar is taking a break, I turn my attention to my side project Stelartronic together with Alexander Kapeller, and I produce for other artists too.
Frau Füreder, you are at present based in the south-west of Mallorca, what can you recommend on the Island? As the mother of a five-year-old son, what are the advantages of living here? And what do you love about your homeland of Austria? I can honestly say that I find Mallorca one of the very best places to live, and I am very happy and grateful that I am able to live here! I love the vibrant old town and Santa Catalina with its great small shops and restaurants. But I am also very happy in the Tramuntana Mountains, and in Valldemossa und Deia. Overall you find a good mix of everything on the Island and I really love its international atmosphere!
I always enjoy going back to Austria and visiting the family, and of course our son Max loves playing in the snow in the winter. But basically I feel very much at home in Mallorca!
Herr Füreder, you tour the world as a successful producer and DJ – many would see this as the dream job. What are the pros and cons of a career in the music industry today? Actually the only thing I don’ t like anymore is the constant travelling …. I would prefer to stay longer in one place. Otherwise I have the best job in the world!
