END OF THE YEAR
award
And the
goes to…
By: Soror Jamilia Pope
The sororal year has come to a close and everyone is gearing up for the 54 th
National Convention in New Orleans, LA. The last chapter meeting concluded,
and President Veronica Tutt took the microphone and said, “It’s now time to
present the End of Year Awards”! The excitement was building and the
anticipation had set in. Soror Tutt announced the MVP awards for each
committee. This was the soror who assisted the chairs with necessary duties
to ensure programs and events were successful.
The Violet of the Year was the soror who worked behind the scenes and
quietly handled Delta business with eagerness. Soror Cheresa Boston was
awarded this title.
Then the Committee of the Year was up next. Who would take this great
honor? Who had done an amazing job at providing purposeful programming,
great marketing for their event, social action awareness and enhanced the
chapter’s community impact? The Miss Delta Teen Pageant committee led by
Sorors Michele Bell Badger and Ingrid Bethel worked tirelessly to produce an
event that was executed with excellence. After the announcement, Michele
and Ingrid were so amazed they won, their mouths were wide open. They
were truly grateful for the recognition.
