Delano Jaycees
The Delano Jaycees were founded in 1981 , and currently have about 30 alumni and current members that generally meet the third Tuesday of the month at Dave ’ s Town Club at 7:30 p . m .
The purpose of the organization is to provide community service , improve members ’ leadership abilities , and promote personal growth and professional development .
The Jaycees are active in the community by running projects , helping the citizens , and donating money to the food shelf , local programs , schools , and many other areas of the Delano community .
Special projects or events include the annual sandbox fill in May ; spring highway cleanup ; golf tournament in September ; Toys for Love INC in December ; and Puck in the Park in January .

Delano Lions
Established in 1965 to support community interests and aid sight- and hearing-challenged individuals . The Delano Lions currently has 55 members . The Lions meet the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p . m . at Dave ’ s Town Club .
Special projects include the Delano Fourth of July parade , Christmas tree sales , Rib Fest , Relay For Life , and various fundraisers .
The Lions adopt Highway 12 between Hennepin County roads 92 and 90 for ditch cleanup . They also collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids , and donate time and money to various local organizations and people in need . Delano / Loretto Girl Scouts
Girls Scouts mission is to build girls of courage , confidence and character , who make the world a better place . We ’ re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls . With incredible programming for girls , Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership , adventure and success .
The Delano / Loretto Service Unit consists of 13 troops , with 119 girls and 49 adults .

Delano Loretto United Way
For more than 50 years , the Delano Loretto Area United Way has been a source of help for people in need . Originally founded as the Delano Community Chest , the United Way is the oldest and farthest reaching charitable organization in the greater Delano and Loretto area .
The Delano Loretto Area United Way is managed by a board of directors comprised of volunteers from the communities , as well as a part-time coordinator , Courtney Olson . United Way conducts an annual fundraising campaign , as well as benefits from in-house business , corporate , and school-giving programs , and civic and fraternal philanthropy .
The organization ’ s president is Wendy Gilmer ; Vice President Bob Van Lith ; Secretary Holly Phipps ; and Treasurer Marlene Kittock . Additional board members are Diane Johnson , Kathy Nordling , Darren Schuler , Joe Tipka , Ted May , Mollie Hoese , and Kevin Max . The board is always looking for more members . The coordinator is Courtney Olson .
Delano Senior Singers Choir The Delano Senior Singers Choir meets at the
Delano Senior Center most Tuesdays at 10 a . m . Singers of every age and ability are invited to lend their voice to the choir .
The group performs at area retirement homes and assisted-living centers , as well as at community events .
Delano Senior Writers ’ Club A story to share , a tale to tell , a dream to explore , a friend to make .
Experiences , thoughts , and feelings come to life in the cozy environment of the Delano Senior Center . The writers ’ group helps us know ourselves and our community ; ages past and times to come are explored by amateur writers in a constructive , supportive environment . Writers ’ group meets at 10:30 a . m . the first and third Thursdays of each month . We laugh , we cry , we smile and we listen to the exciting adventures and extraordinary narratives of everyday people .
Folks from Delano and surrounding areas have something important to share . The writers ’ group is a safe , comfortable place to do that . Whether it ’ s family memories , school day exploits , heartfelt poetry or the great American novel , you have a friendly , eager audience at the Delano Senior Writers ’ Group .
Delano Snowstormers Snowmobile Club
Delano Snowstormers , a local non-profit snowmobile club is “ 50 Years Strong , Supporting Our Trails Since 1971 .”
