has been teaching online since 2013 and has a passion for making the online learning experience meaningful and relevant for students . In 2013 , Dr . Aucoin began her online teaching experience as an adjunct professor at Sam Houston State University and Gwynedd Mercy University . As a counselor educator , she has developed and taught numerous Master-level courses . Her courses developed include virtual role-play scenarios utilizing basic counseling skills as well as new and creative teaching methods related to the most recent research available . She has taught and developed courses in human development , foundations of counseling , multicultural education , organization of school counseling , assessment techniques in counseling , career counseling , theories of counseling , counseling skills , and counseling internship . Dr . Aucoin ’ s wide variety of teaching experience has allowed her to build creative courses which include virtual student interaction allowing the students to feel more connected with their peers in the online learning environment .
Dr . Tina Pharr is an Assistant Professor in Counseling at Gwynedd Mercy University . Her alma maters include the University of the Cumberland ’ s ( PhD ), University of Mobile ( MA ), and University of South Alabama ( BA ). Dr . Pharr began her professional counseling experience in 2004 . Her counseling experience includes intensive in-home counseling with families impacted by trauma , community-based behavioral health , college counseling , telemental health services , and outpatient counseling . She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota , ACA , ACES , and SACES . In her free time , Dr . Pharr coaches girls ’ basketball and goes on adventures with her husband and two children .
Elizabeth Brokamp ( PHD , LPC , NCC , ACS , BC-TMH ) is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Program at Gwynedd Mercy University . Given that GMU ’ s Master ’ s program in Counseling is primarily online , Elizabeth is interested in continually exploring ways to refine her online teaching practices and better meet students ’ needs . She also maintains a part-time online clinical practice in Virginia where she resides .
Meghan Walter has been a counselor educator for 13 years and is currently an associate professor in counseling at Gwynedd Mercy University . She has experience as a professional school counselor in public school , alternative school , K-8 parochial schools , and international schools in Germany . She has also worked as a clinical mental health counselor in private practice , as an educational consultant , and as a counselor in adolescent substance abuse treatment . Her specific areas of inquiry are in counselor development ; community-based participatory research ; counseling children and adolescents ; and social justice issues in schools . Additionally , Meghan ’ s clinical interests include parent coaching and the use of play therapy , sand tray therapy , and expressive arts in counseling . Meghan lives in Cary , North Carolina .
