Issue Number 10 | December 2020
Each year our S2 Digital Enterprise students take part in the # DigiInventors Challenge run by the DHI and in conjunction with Glasgow Warriors . This is a great opportunity for students to develop their entrepreneurial , team work and digital skills ... as well as a chance to help improve the physical and mental well-being of young people across Scotland .
We were delighted to have a team in the # DigiInventors Challenge final again this year . Well done to Savanna , Amy , Laura and Ashlyn in S3 with their entry You Wish , We Assist . The team worked hard on their business pitch to promote their app which is designed to help students across Scotland with their mental health . The app would include features , such as , mood tracker , motivational messages , podcasts / games , the ability to contact a mental expert directly and an emergency alert that could be sent to your key contact . The group attended a virtual Bootcamp in November , attending masterclasses such as ' how to pitch ' by Gurjit Singh from Tedx , a
Marketing and Business Model Canvas class offered by SIE and a Codesign Masterclass by the DHI Design Team .
The team then had 3 weeks to work on their final pitch in school . The group did a fantastic job , split between working in school and isolating at home the group remained motivated and used Microsoft Teams to communicate and hold meeting online to work on their pitch . They were very organised and despite their initial nerves put together an excellent , professional presentation - showcasing the wireframe for their app alongside their market research .
Our S3 finalists competed in the final on December 11 th via Teams . They presented to a panel of judges and their pitch was recorded to be streamed to the 2020 digital health festival , this will include an audience of heath and care providers , members of government , independent business and stakeholders in the field of digital health .
