Random Acts of Kindness at Marr College
S3 Admin Santa Letters
Written by Eva Mackinnon, S2( Welbeck)
The week beginning the 23 rd of November, Marr College started our Random Acts of Kindness. During registration, personal support teachers would have given you all kindness cards where you can write about what you did showing kindness! Each house colour is different, meaning each house card is different. Welbeck( the best house – I am biased 😊) is purple, Portland is red, Darley is blue, Lothian is yellow and Fullarton is green.
Each card that you write is worth 10 house points. Currently Welbeck are in the lead with the house points. You can write as many kindness cards as you like and they will be displayed all around the school. The more cards the better because it shows visitors and parents how kind and positive our school is. Remember Marr College’ s values: Community, Ambition, Respect and Equality.
It could be as simple as holding the door open for someone or cleaning up someone’ s mess. Luckily, we have our South Ayrshire foodbank donations all this week so most of the school could write something about that or for any other charity work we have taken part in during our school time.
Our S3 Administration class have been working on a festive project with Troon Primary. The Primary 3 students wrote their letters to Santa- they decorated each envelope beautifully and wrote about what they had done well this year, what they enjoyed and what they had learned at school.
Our S3 Admin class received these letters and replied as Santa! This allowed them to put their ICT skills into practice, using Word to produce a festive letter and then entering details into a database so that they could use mail merge to personalise each letter. They then decorated the envelopes and placed a festive sticker inside for each child. Well done everyone- and a special thank you to Mrs Roan at Troon Primary.
