Model UN
Model UN is open to all year groups and takes place in R232 on a Monday lunchtime – grab your lunch and head up. The aim of Model UN is to provide an opportunity for students to learn about current events, international relations, diplomacy, and the United Nations by roleplaying as diplomats debating global issues. Participating in Model UN also builds key skills including public speaking and critical thinking and promoting international cooperation and understanding.
S1 Social Subjects
S1 pupils are this year engaging in a new format with Social Subjects. Classes come to the department for five periods a week and engage with each Social Subject as a‘ block’ of learning, before finishing the year with a project-based task incorporating various elements of their learning throughout the year. Classes have completed their‘ History’ and‘ Geography’ block and will engage with RME and Modern Studies after Christmas. Pupil feedback has been exceptionally positive, and below are examples of some pupil work from the first half of the year:
