S3 Admin & Events- Staff Secret Santa
On Friday 12 th December one of our S3 Admin & Events classes displayed their festive spirit and organisational skills by arranging a staff secret Santa event for the school.
Students have been planning the event by booking the venue, organising baked goods and snacks, biscuits, decorations, Christmas cards, teas and coffees, marketing the event and ensuring that all gifts were delivered on time!
Students took pictures of the event and even dressed up as Santa and his elves.
Thank you so much to all the staff who took part – with a special thanks to Mrs Laurenson for supporting the class!
We hope that everyone enjoyed their afternoon and were happy with their gifts from Santa.

Micro Tyco – Too Good to Throw
Every day, around 3.5 million tonnes of food is wasted, most of which is edible.
Since S3, Sophie, Lottie, Cara, Katie, Harry and Oliver have been working hard to prevent food from going to waste, by entering the Micro Tyco competition. In this competition, groups are asked to pick a number of world problems to solve in 30 days, with a starting budget of £ 1.
The group is S3s( Now S4) chose the Sustainable Development Goals Zero Hunger and No Poverty for the challenge and called their enterprise " Too Good to Throw ".
Their idea was to recycle extra food from the school canteen so there wouldn ' t be any waste.
With support from people like Chris Majury, the Head Officer in charge of food hygiene in South Ayrshire, and other prominent members of the community, the pupils have started reaching out to local businesses to get them to join in and become part of their sustainable project.
