Pottery Club
Written by Isla Anderson , S1
Ceramics is on a Thursday after school 3pm - 4pm . It is very full at the moment but still great fun ! Mrs Morton in the Art department runs the club for us . I have asked one of her students Lilly to tell us more :
" I like going to ceramics because we can get to choose to make our own stuff and let are imagination go wild or we can follow some stuff on the board and give it our own twist . Another thing I like about Ceramics is that Mrs Morton is VERY nice . We have proof of this from her going out of her way to bring her own stuff from her house and to use up her time to let us try a completely new experience . But be warned if you mess around and break someone ' s work you might not be able to come back but you would have a warning first . But altogether it is really fun and I will be going back next term ."
In December we began making Christmas tree decorations and we will be selling them at the Christmas Concert along with other ceramic goodies to raise money to keep pottery club going ( more clay and glazes are needed ).
Fun facts You have to make a hole in the clay so when it is fired it won ' t blow up / explode !
