Jersey Shore High School Hosts Successful Career Fair for Students
Jersey Shore Area Senior High School hosted a Career Fair on October 31st by connecting with approximately 40 local businesses and organizations. The event was held in the gymnasium, organized by CTE Director, Mr. David Bittner, to promote the district’ s vision of promoting career readiness and enhancing opportunities to prepare for students’ futures. A wide variety of career pathways were present, in which students could learn directly from skilled professionals. Students were able to learn from local employers regarding job requirements, on the job training, and career advancement opportunities. Students were able to gain insight into careers in human services, health care, public services, first responders, military, and banking, along with representatives from local colleges.
Throughout the day, the student body circulated among booths by engaging in conversations with representatives and their peers. Students were able to connect with community members and local business by asking questions about qualifications, career pathway choices, and future employment opportunities. For many students, the Annual Career Fair offered students a way to reflect on their current course work and take steps to understand how their interests could connect to their future goals.
The Career Fair was marked a huge success. Students from the culinary arts program worked tirelessly to provide a luncheon and refreshments for all representatives during the day. Student leaders helped with preparing booths for each organization, as well as supporting the JSASHS students who attended throughout the day. The custodial and maintenance staff were also extremely crucial in setting up the gymnasium for the day. JSASHS is proud of the team effort and collaboration to make this year’ s career fair a huge success. Jersey Shore Area Senior High School would like to sincerely thank those who came to support our students’ future endeavors!
