Last month I dropped into the Country Line Dance group. There were six ladies who attended that day’ s class. Just so you know, you don’ t
KELLS need a partner for this class. Four of the ladies attended for the first time and there were two who had been doing the class for a while. When the class started, I was a little surprised that they played Latin music for the first three dances. The instructor, Mark, mentioned a few times he played the music to wake up their feet and body and prime them for some more difficult moves. Mark started out very slowly, giving very clear instructions and examples of the movements. In the beginning the steps were very basic and then he would proceed to add more movements to the dance program, such as moving their legs and then their hips, shoulders and arms— creating a really good workout / dance routine. They then started doing some salsa dancing and eventually Mark started playing country music for them to dance to, even though it seemed to be a basic dance routine. The ladies really advanced and picked up the routines and did a great job. By the end of the class, the ladies had smiles, but also mentioned that it was a heck of a work out. If you would like to check it out, the free class is on Tuesdays at 1 p. m. in the recreation room in the Activity Center.

But Jay Gatsby doesn’ t heed them. He cares for one person alone— Daisy Buchanan, the woman he has waited for all his life. Little does he know that his infatuation will lead to tragedy and end in murder. This meeting only will start at 12:30 p. m. in the Wilson Room of the Activity Center.
