Dumfries House Trip

Written by Zoe ( S2 )
On the 30 th of October , the Geography department took 6 people to Dumfries house on a trip to widen their sense of what jobs are available in the Rural side of work . Mr McCrorie oversaw this trip and helped organise the students to go to Dumfries House . They did multiple activities , including , learning about bioscience , talking to a university named SRUC and a charity named Lantra .
" Overall it was really enjoyable , it was good to see different options to be shown and being shown the rural skills om the economy ." Mr McCrorie , Geography Department .
We are happy to see more S2 Students becoming involved with the environment and we are glad to know that they extended their knowledge about the environment and what jobs they can take in the rural side of work .

S1 SeaStory

Written by Zara & Macey
The S1 pupils at Marr Collage got an amazing opportunity to participate in a project based on sea life to rase awareness to the school and the wider public about pollution . Ten practical groups competed to have the best presentation or movie to win an opportunity to go on a school trip to the Sea Life Center in Loch Lomond . The judges choose who got to go by picking the top two groups that was their favourite .
The winning pupils traveled to Loch Lomond by coach , on arriving they explored the center and all its cool features , and they even found a fish that had Marr colours – purple and gold ! We met some really nice staff members and there was even a gift shop and a huge cinema !
