DJ ZENITH
What did you do musically through lockdown ? Did you release new music ?
Honestly , I ' ve never had this much time off tour before . This lockdown has allowed me to spend time working on my production skills and evolving as a songwriter . I released my electronic pop collaboration Tarse in July , followed by my first film score with my single Waqt Tham Gaya Kahin , I also recreated Lucky Ali ’ s classic Na Tum Jano Na Hum with my boys , Ashwin Adwani & Iconyk which we released officially on the original label .
Challenges you faced when recording your songs / making new music
There were a number of challenges that crept up ; from moments when I just ran out of inspiration to times when I had the inspiration but lacked the equipment at home . When you work remotely , communicating back and forth takes up a lot of time but at the end of the day there ’ s a passion to create and express myself through my music .
How do you think the music scene can recover from the pandemic hit ?
It ’ s been a really tough time for everyone but I ’ ve noticed that a lot of artists stepped forward and supported other artists in every possible way . Now with everything being digitized and live entertainment on hold , I think it is very important for fans and enthusiasts to come forward and support the artists in any way they can . It could be something as basic as engaging / sharing the artist ' s work , actively buying / streaming their music , buying tickets to their virtual gigs . We all need to bounce back together as a community and look out for each other .
What can we look forward to from you now ?
I have 2 more tracks in the pipeline for this year ; my team at Shark & Ink has been working out the logistics to release them at the best time . Aside from this , I ’ m also writing new music and working out my sound for 2021 . I hope to get back on the road next year and work towards building and performing my live show that I ’ ve been working on for years now .
