What did you do musically through lockdown ? Did you release new music ?
Being home-bound during the pandemic gave me the opportunity to catch up on personal musical projects that have been on the back burner . It also opened up a lot of time , and mental space to start exploring songwriting , which I ’ ve wanted to do for a long time but found it hard between travelling for shows and other work . Throughout the lockdown , I had several covers , independent songs in collaboration with some great artists , and a couple film songs released as well .
Challenges you faced when recording your songs / making new music
It ’ s a different experience when you ’ re recording in a studio and able to feed off of other people ' s vibes versus recording at home . I ’ m glad I ’ m able collaborate remotely with some great musicians and producers , though . Sometimes it takes a little longer to finish a song remotely , but we ’ ve been making it work !
How do you think the music scene can recover from the pandemic hit ?
It ’ s probably going to be a long , slow recovery until it ' s safe for large events and full-staffed productions to start running again , but the digital pivots happening since early in the pandemic are a foot forward to keeping the music scene alive during unprecedented times .
What can we look forward to from you now ?
I ’ m releasing some independent singles over the next few months , and more content on my YouTube channel as well ! Stay tuned to my instagram (@ jonitamusic ) to find out more about what ’ s coming !

What did you do musically through lockdown ? Did you release new music ?
I created musical content for the Youtube channel and Instagram page of Zoe & Urgen , i . e . a side project with a friend of mine ( Urgen Yolmo ). I had also been working on the production for my first single ‘ Human ’ with a producer ( Krishh Datta ) during the early months of Lockdown - a song about appreciation and gratitude towards your friends and family , your support system .
Challenges you faced when recording your songs / making new music .
Initially we was having trouble getting the perfect vibe for my song Human , but after a couple experimental tries , we hit home and I am so happy with the outcome , The releasing part was all TRIAL AND ERROR , it was my first time doing this and I was quite confused at times . However , after doing my research and some help from some lovely indie musicians , I managed it .
How do you think the music scene can recover from the pandemic hit ?
The live music scene is definitely suffering , and finding ways to earn money is stressful for sure . I am hopeful however , for things to slowly get better . All we can do is keep making content , staying productive , and working on ourselves . I think we just need to keep hustling , and hopefully with audience support , we come out of this pandemic strong .
What can we look forward to from you now ?
I plan to release more music , keep creating content with my YouTube partner . After this release I ’ m going to start putting out more of my own songs , put myself out there as a singer-songwriter and make myself known in this industry . Touchwood hehe .
