WSCA Board Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Steve Bobzin , seconded by Paul Hansen , to approve the eligible requests for refunds as presented by Amber . Motion carried unanimously .
James shared that the committee is still waiting on collecting vendor fees from 2 vendors . Invoices have been sent . Computer : Jake Flodquist

Absent . Nothing to report . Futurity : Josh Tjosaas
Absent . Futurity went well . Entries were up with really nice classes . Josh has made the decision to step down from Futurity Chair .
Historian : Tim Wampfler
Absent . Nothing to report . James gave a shout out to Tim for taking over and coordinating stall hauling and set up this year . It was a huge help .
Judges : Lynn-Ellen St . Martin
Absent , Sara Schwartz reporting . The expedited judges application procedure was created last month , which will be presented in the procedures report . There is one judge applicant being presented to the board for approval . The Judges committee along with 5 current WSCA judges recommend that the board approve applicant Kelly Dobravra . The judges committee is continuing to develop content for the next seminar .
Motion was made by Amber Duncanson , seconded by Julie Gintner , to approve Judge applicant Kelly Dobravra and allow her to begin her probationary judging . Motion carried unanimously .
Marketing & Promotions : Rachel Duenow
Rachel has started gathering stats for the website and champ show program . Herald journal let us know that we are up 300 readers from last year . Rachel will have more stats to share at the general meeting . Rachel is putting together the power point , slideshow and program for the upcoming general meeting and banquet .
Nominating : Ann Goebel
There are 6 candidates running for the 3 open board positions , and all have been published in the October spotlight . Current candidates are Ann Goebel , Keith Sather , Lynn-Ellen St . Martin , Alaina Dettling , Dustin Heck and Courtney Betsch . Nominations will also be opened at the general meeting . Board members and people in attendance were reminded to share the candidate applications with their club members , prior to the general meeting , so that their club ’ s delegates are prepared to vote for up to 3 candidates . Kevin Berger has agreed to help Julia Northwick with collecting and counting ballots at the general meeting .
Procedures : Sandy Strube
With Sandy ’ s help , the Judges Committee presented the WSCA Judges Application for Judges with Existing Credentials procedure to the board for approval . This procedure would be an expedited process for judge applicants who already hold judging credentials from other recognized associations . James noted that part of this procedure includes continuing education , requiring judges who do not attend the annual judges seminar to complete and return to the Judges Committee a mailed test . Returned tests , as well as tests completed at the seminar are reviewed to determine what areas need further review . Credentials qualifying for the expedited process include AQHA , APHA , PtHA , ApHC and NSBA . Applicants with other national cards will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Judges Committee .
Motion made by Lori Taylor , seconded by Karson Duncanson , to approve the WSCA Judges Application for Judges with Existing Credentials as presented by the Judges Committee . Motion carried unanimously .
