DDR: What are your musical influences? What
music do you listen to in your off time?
LK: We all listen to different stuff. We have varied
tastes with an array of different sounds. Everything from Slayer to the Deftones to Black Sabbath
to Napalm Death.
DDR: In the 90’s I was fortunate enough to see
Nirvana perform live, back then I knew I was
watching something special, both musically as well
as the energy on stage. While seeing you perform, I
had the same feeling as watching Nirvana. Do you
find others making that comparison, how does it
make you feel to be compared to a band that
meant so much to everyone?
LK: We would love to believe we will be as talented
and successful as Nirvana. Although, we would
enjoy not being boxed into everyone’s Nirvana classification and expectations. We just make music
we like to play and if people compare us to Nirvana, that’s the way it is. Nothing more, nothing
less.
DDR: Igor, while also heading up Lody Kong, we
have heard you are also writing a book, can you tell
us anything about it, when will it be released? Do
you have plans to write a second novel?
LK: It is a horror novel entitled KILLING, MY INSOMNIA. The story is about a young adult battling
the demons in his mind as well as the demons of
Hell and Earth. I began writing it in April of 2013,
and am currently in the process of a final draft. My
expected release is scheduled for the summer of
2014, though it could be earlier or later than then. I am
releasing it through Amazon.com myself, so it will be easy
to find once on the market. As for a second novel, I will
definitely be writing again after KILLING, MY INSOMNIA.
I am in the pre-production stage of a second novel, and I
am hoping it will be a wild ride, much like my first novel.
