Techno-animism : bringing everyday objects to life with digital animation
Sun 1 Sept , 11am - 5pm Free
Join Digital Animator Joseph Norman in bringing the everyday object to life . You can either create drawings or choose to work digitally , depicting your chosen objects and creating speech bubbles to reveal magically interacting images for the outside screening .
Young People ’ s Workshops
Animated Techno-Creatures
Sat 21 Sept , 10.30am - 4pm £ 15
You are invited to use traditional art and digital graphic processes to invent a techno-creature ( a hybrid electronic / natural character ), which will inhabit a place at the Pavilion ! Come and produce digital prints and emailed screensavers for your phone . Participants should bring USBs . Aged 9-13 yrs

Since 2011 , The Brighton Digital Festival has been developing a growing reputation as a major creative event , combining cutting edge works by a wide range of artists and coders , both locally and nationally established . We will be showing a selection of exciting work from the in a large scale projection event outside on the West Lawn . Digital Animator Joseph Norman from the Furry Tree Studio is orchestrating a carefully selected showcase from the festival , which will be shown alongside animations produced at workshops he is running throughout September .
