The bomb vessel is pressurized with 30Bar of pure oxygen in the initial period of the determination. The sample is then ignited in the firing period with electrical energy. During the main period the vessel is heated from the combustion of the sample. The pressure of the vessel rapidly increases with relation to the type of sample being burnt. A bomb calorimeter basically consists of a cup (crucible) to hold the sample, deflector plate, oxygen, a stainless steel bomb vessel , the insulating aluminium sleeve, the electronic controller card and the ignition system connected to the outside of the bomb for igniting the sample. One of the CAL3K-AP features is a micro-processor in the base of the bomb vessel for the automatic measurement of the calorific value of the sample. This unique design ensures no energy is lost or gained in the determination cycle, increasing the repeatable accuracy of the bomb vessel . The on-screen subject help is great way to have subject help at every step of the calorimeter operation Imagine having the choice of three calorimetry methods in one calorimeter system. The CAL3K range of calorimeters uses one, or a combination, of the following calorimetry methods, including: Isothermal, Adiabatic and Dynamic (Experimental). New and Improved Advanced Features Simplify your sample analysis workflow with new features introduced in the CAL3K range of oxygen bomb calorimeter systems. Existing features of the CAL2K Bomb Calorimeter have been improved and applied to the latest range of calorimeters from DDS Calorimeters, with some added advanced features to provide seamless operation and analysis. Explore the new features that the CAL3K has to offer and more, including upgraded and new features like : USB port communication, keyboard functionality, command explanations, subject help, bluetooth communication, calorimeter field testing, vessel testing, event logging, improved result storage, new operating modes, LIMS support, improved maintenance, calorimeter identification, vessel identification, improved temperature ranges, factory testing, hardware calibration, ambient temperature logging, improved initial firing conditions, autoincrementing SID, setting firing voltage, and serviceability
