While the supervision responsibility of misdemeanor probation cases does not reside with DCS, we do provide the oversight infrastructure needed to ensure the integrity of Georgia’s misdemeanor probation system.
DCS provides oversight of:
• Contracts or agreements for probation services
• Conduct of business operations by service providers and employees
• Registration of private and governmental service providers and employees
• Uniform professional and contract standards in rendering misdemeanor probation supervision
• Collection services to the courts and other statutory obligations by service providers
• Inspection and investigation of services to ensure compliance of DCS Board Rules and Statute
• Enforcement of statutory requirements and DCS rule requirements
