Around 1:00 a . m . on Friday , March 29th , the General Assembly adjourned Sine Die . Of the 150 bills we were actively tracking , 11 House Bills , 12 Senate Bills , and 2 Senate Resolutions creating study committees achieved final passage .
The most notable bills this year are HB 130 , HB 451 , SB 328 , SB 424 , and SB 493 .
HB 130 creates a student loan repayment program for peace officers .
HB 451 requires public employers to provide and maintain supplemental PTSD insurance for first responders .
SB 328 amends many provisions of the Peace Officers ’ Annuity and Benefit Fund .
SB 424 creates the West Georgia Judicial Circuit by moving Carroll & Heard Counties from the Coweta Circuit .
SB 493 updates laws concerning the use of drones with cameras by registered sex offenders and revises the process for sex offenders to be released from the registry .
During the Governor ’ s Bill Review Period , we will work with the appropriate Division Directors to identify action items and the appropriate policy adjustments . After the Governor ’ s Bill Review Period concludes , a presentation that covers all of the signed legislation we were tracking will be sent out .
In closing , I would like to thank everyone for their teamwork and collaboration throughout the legislative session .
