Dawn’s quick tips to make your home eco-friendly,
and they’re cost saving too!
It’s a win, win.
• TURN OFF THE TAP. Switch it off whilst your brushing teeth!
• Shower not Bath! A shower uses 14% of bath water; saving you up to £40 per month!
• USE WASH CLOTHS , not kitchen roll. Kitchen roll retails at £1.50, you can wash cloths for less.
• Cold is better when washing clothes, since 85-90% energy goes into heating the water.
• Grow house plants and improve the air quality. Here at Dawn we love spider plants!
• USING REUSABLE BPA free water bottles saves you from spending £1 on water on the go.
Dawn’s Green tips could save
you up to £50 a month.
£50 a month for these small
changes? That’s enough to
turn you green.
ECO TIPS FROM
THE READERS
Freya Baskcombe: “Something
that seems tiny, but is huge, is
saying no to plastic straws. They’re a
silent killer to animals in the ocean. So,
I drink everything straw-less, unless it’s a
bio/metal one.”
Chloe Freeburn: “Use reusable containers –
i.e. glass water bottles, coffee cups, and
tupperware instead of plastic wrapping on
food.”
Liberty Smith: “Print on both sides! Saves so
many sheets of paper, especially when your
job is heavily order form based.”

Georgia Greenwood: “Use microfiber face
clothes instead of makeup wipes, natural
roll-on deodorant vs aerosol, and most
importantly: reusable shopping bags.”
