Wright County SHERIFF’S OFFICE Sheriff Sean Deringer of Maple Lake is the 28th sheriff of Wright County. Count Deringer began his career in Wright County as a patrol officer with the Buffalo Police Dept. in 1996. In 1997, Deringer was hired by the Wright County Sheriff’s Ofﬁ ce, where he has served as a patrol deputy, narcotics investigator, detective, patrol sergeant, criminal investigation lieutenant, administrative lieutenant, and patrol captain prior to being elected as sheriff in November 2018. Deringer assumed his duties as sheriff Jan. 7, 2019. 2019 . The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is the third-largest sheriff’s ofﬁ ce in the State of Minnesota, with more than 250 employees. The sheriff’s ofﬁ ce provides contract law enforcement for 13 of the 17 cities in the county.
