Fill ᾿er Up Please
When I think of BBQ I think of
a little white shack with a smoker
and a ton of wood out back. That’s
the BBQ I remember growing up.
I know those shacks are gone, but
the feeling of that era can’t be beat.
Drive down Beatties Ford Road
in Huntersville and you’ll see this
BBQ joint on the side of the road,
and you immediately think of
cruisers parked under those iron
light posts. It just looks and feels
like a great place to hang out and
talk about your ride. The building
is a restored service station, the
center of social gatherings back
in the day. The old service bay is
a full service bar and the sociable
side of the service station is now a
dining room filled with auto and
shop memorabilia. Jeff Lancaster
started selling his BBQ and Wings
here in 2006. Much attention was
given to updating the look of the
restaurant without destroying the
character of the building.
The food is old tyme great tastin’
home made gifts for your mouth. I
eat a lot of BBQ and I can’t tell you
where to find any better. Special
attention is given to the fried food
with homemade batter and sauces
to enhance the flavors.
You get the idea that this is a
unique place to grab a bite or a
beverage with your friends and
family. Now, I just have to remember to ask Jeff where he hid the
little white shack...
