The story of #Madejawoman (Hankwoman) is very curious. All started with the idea of making a videodance as a Christmas greeting, like a postcard. I had built the character, an easy script, colours, etc. In the beginning, #Madejawoman was meant to be a "normal" woman called Ana who lived in Cerdanyola (our town), she was about to go to a party with her sister and… she fell asleep... then she dreamt she gave gifts with a magical dance.
Then I suggested to Ester Sánchez to be my main character. Ester is a strong, fully grown-up woman who has kept the flexibility of her body through plenty of work. Now, she has two centers of postural positioning. She loves to dance but she hadn’t done anything creative for a long time, so she quickly got involved with the idea and was an active part of the development.
Little by little and experimenting over the character's nature, enjoying the moment, the concept of Ana evolved to Hankwoman: a heroine that wants to save Christmas with a red hank! A funny idea!
We wanted it to be social, so we published the video on YouTube and put photos on Facebook and Instagram. We wanted the people to tell us about their Christmas. The funniest and the most beautiful thing happened with Ester's students (who are also fully grown-up): they replied to us in a mess (literally, tangled up) wishing us a Merry Christmas. :)
