Bernard DEFFIS has more than 30 years experience in the field of defense & security markets . After
having worked as a field engineer at Schlumberger in South East Asia servicing several oil & gas
companies, he joined Thales ( previously Thomson CSF) in 1990 . During the 90’s , he managed several
engineering teams to develop mission critical equipment and solutions for the Armed Forces on board
Rafale , Hawkeye, Awacs and the Aircraft Carrier Charles de Gaulle . In 2002, he was transferred to the
United States to expand Thales footprint in the domain of defense and security communications and
information systems, then in 2008 in Thales Germany to contribute to the consolidation of the defense
& security business. Bernard DEFFIS is currently responsible for managing marketing and sales
development activities in Europe for the Secure Communications & Information Systems Global
Business Unit of Thales
