Maritime Security Systems and Services Maritime Organisations (Coast Guards, Navy, Maritime Police, Customs...) need solutions to protect shipping and shipping lanes, fight piracy, enforce fisheries regulations, combat trafficking and illegal immigration, mitigate the effects of natural disasters, and protect port facilities and other maritime infrastructure. Thales as a lead system integrator of in house and third party equipment & solutions provide to customers enhanced capabilities to: - Monitor efficiently the EEZ, maritime space, coastal areas, coastlines, ports areas Improve reaction time from detection to interception Match the diversity of the nature and level of threats Optimize the deployment, use and interaction of the different human and technical resources These solutions may also be efficiently combined with Land Surveillance systems in order to control all borders of a particular country. Critical National Infrastructure Protection Most of the current threats such as terrorist attacks or natural disasters require integrated and resilient solutions based upon intrusion detection, access control, video management, incident and resource management and secure communications. However, as critical national infrastructure operators become more and more IT driven, there is an urgent need to counter cyber threats as well. Stealth attacks, sometimes backed by hostile states, may persist for months – even years. As well as the risk of fraud and data theft, today’s cyber criminals increasingly target critical information systems of government sites, military installations, energy, utilities and transport operators with the potential for massive disruption . Because it becomes a National Security hot topic, governments will progressively obligate those critical national infrastructure operators to reach a defined level of security On our side, we work with our customers to design and deploy full fledge protection solutions including physical security as well as logical security by providing active cyber defence, combining attack detection with analysis and reaction capabilities.
