The external environment forms an equally important part of the project. Soft and hard play areas have been incorporated into the design alongside landscaped grounds, with proposals including a nature trail to support outdoor learning and environmental education. These spaces have been planned to complement the internal teaching accommodation and encourage learning beyond the classroom.

Delivering a new school on an operational education site requires careful planning and coordination. Construction has been phased to allow teaching to continue safely while work progresses, with Felix O’ Hare managing the programme alongside the Education Authority and the school to minimise disruption throughout the build.
The project also represents an important milestone in the continuing development of integrated education in Northern Ireland. Millennium Integrated Primary School was founded by parents seeking an integrated educational environment, and the new campus provides facilities designed to support that vision as pupil numbers continue to increase.
Construction is scheduled for completion in late 2027. Once open, the new Millennium Integrated Primary School will provide a modern learning environment designed around inclusion, flexibility and long-term sustainability, ensuring the school has the capacity and facilities to continue serving its growing community for many years to come.
