WELLESLEY EASTERN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Morgan Sindall is constructing the new Wellesley Eastern Primary School in Aldershot for Hampshire County Council— a modern, 420 place primary school with SEN support, scheduled to open in September 2025.
Work is underway on a brand-new primary school in Aldershot, designed to meet the needs of the growing Wellesley community. Wellesley Eastern Primary School is being built by Morgan Sindall on behalf of Hampshire County Council, with designs from HCC Property Services. The new school will offer 420 places for children aged 4 to 11, with extra support available for pupils with special educational needs.
The school is being built as part of the ongoing development at Wellesley, which is bringing hundreds of new homes to the area. As more families move in, the new school will help make sure there are enough school places nearby. It follows on from Cambridge Primary School, which opened in 2018.
The school will have 14 classrooms across two floors, along with a main hall, group rooms, a studio, and a special resource area for children with additional needs. There will also be a learning centre and outdoor areas including play spaces and a sports pitch. All parts of the school are being designed to be inclusive, welcoming, and easy to access.
The building is designed with sustainability in mind. It will use a timber frame construction, which helps reduce the carbon footprint. Solar panels will be fitted on the roof, and the school will have natural ventilation, modern heating systems, and energy-saving lighting. These features will help lower running costs and make the building more environmentally friendly.
