Staffordshire Commissioner Ben Adams has emphasised the importance of providing modern, fit-for-purpose facilities for policing teams across the county. The investment in Longton not only responds to years of underinvestment but also aligns with the broader commitment to creating environments that support effective policing, officer wellbeing, and public engagement.
The refurbishment also presents an opportunity to improve staff morale and support recruitment. Feedback from officers highlighted the need for better working conditions, with the existing layout often cited as one of the least desirable postings within the force. The upgraded facility is expected to address these concerns directly, offering a modern, well-equipped base with the capacity and quality expected of a 21st-century police service.
Looking ahead, Longton Police Station will play a central role in policing across Stoke-on-Trent. As a key location in the city’ s operational network, it will provide a more joined-up service to the public, a more cohesive workplace for police teams, and a platform for improved efficiency and visibility.
