Hackney’ s ability to demonstrate value for money, clear carbon savings, and alignment with both local and national decarbonisation strategies. Salix has commended the council’ s leadership in delivering a programme that contributes meaningfully to the UK’ s wider net zero ambitions.
As the borough looks ahead, the council plans to build on this work through further investment in low-carbon technologies, renewable energy generation, and smart
building solutions. The PSDS programme has also strengthened relationships with local supply chains and provided skills opportunities in the growing field of green retrofit and decarbonisation.
By upgrading 27 buildings through the PSDS scheme, Hackney is setting an example for other local authorities on how to take decisive, practical action to reduce emissions at scale, while securing long-term value for the public estate.
