Faversham Lakes is a complex scheme, incorporating residential, ecological and community components. Alongside the new homes, the development includes restored listed buildings, reimagined as public heritage and education spaces. A network of public footpaths, bird hides and observation points encourage residents and visitors to explore the parkland, while planned amenities such as a scout hut and improved access to local schools further embed the development within the wider community.
Throughout the construction process, careful attention has been paid to how the built environment interacts with the
natural landscape. This is not a development imposed on the land, but one shaped around it. Homes are positioned to maximise sunlight and views, while green corridors and water features help to preserve biodiversity and support local wildlife.
As homes are completed and occupied, feedback from new residents has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly in relation to build quality, landscaping, and the integration of private and shared space. It is a development that feels rooted in its surroundings, with a rhythm and character that reflects both thoughtful design and precise execution.
As work continues on the remaining phases, the project is already being viewed as a benchmark for new housing in the South East; evidence that volume housebuilding and design-led placemaking can, and should, coexist.
