Historic Property Restoration Limited was formerly the direct labour arm of English Heritage . They specialise in the conservation and restoration of Britain ’ s historic buildings and landmarks , with a growing portfolio of successful multi-million pound projects .
They provide contracting excellence in the restoration and conservation of historic buildings , from Listed Buildings to World Heritage Sites . They strive to restore and protect our historic and architectural heritage , in order to secure its future and are able to offer their services throughout most of England and the Scottish Borders .
Over the last decade , they have worked in partnership with English Heritage and in more recent years have overseen projects for The National Trust and The Churches Conservation Trust .
Restoration of Towneley Hall Towneley Hall , Burnley , was the family home of the Towneley ’ s for nearly five centuries and is today owned , managed and financed by Burnley Borough Council . This iconic landmark is praised for its breath-taking surroundings , extensive range of events and extraordinary exhibitions including the Chandelier of Lost Earrings , which was voted the nation ’ s favourite piece of art by National Lottery Awards .
A programme of major repairs to Towneley Hall started in October 2022 and will be completed in early 2025 . The repairs are being undertaken in three phases and the first phase , The Great Hall , commenced in October 2022 with the external work expected to be completed by early Summer of 2023 . and the internal ceilings by May 2024 .
